Saitama has become one of the main warehouse belts serving the Tokyo region. Large distribution centres line the ring expressways and the routes heading north, handling online orders, supermarket and convenience store deliveries, apparel and household goods. Typical tasks are picking items with a handheld scanner, sorting parcels by destination, packing and labelling, inspecting returns, and moving pallets by forklift. A practical tip: large distribution centres are often far from stations and run shuttle buses tied to shift times. Ask about the shuttle schedule, lockers and rules on phones and personal items, which are often strict to prevent loss. A forklift licence, taken through a short training course in Japan, can open steadier roles; some employers help with the course. Frozen and chilled warehouses pay attention to protective clothing, so ask what is provided.
