Terms of Use
Updated: Sep 25, 2026
1. Application of these Terms
These Terms of Use (the ‘Terms’) apply to everyone who uses OlaJob (olajob.jp, the ‘Service’), a job information website operated by MIA Co., Ltd. (‘we’, ‘us’), as a job seeker (‘you’). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Employers that post jobs are also subject to the Employer Terms. Rules and notices we post on the Service form part of these Terms.
These Terms are originally written in Japanese. This English version is a translation for reference; if there is any discrepancy, the Japanese version prevails.
2. What the Service is
The Service provides job information and job seeker information (a recruitment information service under the Employment Security Act of Japan). We are not a fee-charging employment placement agency. Hiring decisions are made by employers, and employment contracts are concluded directly between you and the employer. We are not a party to any employment contract.
Searching, viewing and applying for jobs, and the other features for job seekers, are free of charge.
We do not guarantee that you will be hired, or that any residence status (visa) will be granted, changed or renewed.
3. Your account
You register an account in the way specified on the Service. Please provide true, accurate and up-to-date information and update it promptly when it changes.
You are responsible for managing your account and login details and must not let anyone else use them. If you notice unauthorized use of your account, please contact us promptly.
You may ask us to delete your account at any time.
4. Applications and sharing with employers
When you apply for a job, your application (profile, work experience, documents, etc.) is sent, based on your consent at the time of application, only to that employer. Details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Screening, interviews, confirming working conditions and signing an employment contract take place between you and the employer. Always confirm the working conditions in writing (or in another form provided by the employer) before signing an employment contract.
We are not responsible for the outcome of your applications, such as the result of document screening or whether you are hired.
5. Residence status and work restrictions
You are responsible for working only within the scope permitted by your residence status. For example, part-time work by students who have permission to engage in activities outside their status is generally limited to 28 hours per week (up to 8 hours a day during long vacations set by the school). Depending on your residence status, the types of jobs and duties you may do can be limited.
The residence-status compatibility shown on the Service is reference information based on what employers provide. It is not legal advice. Final decisions on residence status are made by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan. For your individual situation, please consult a professional such as a certified administrative scrivener (gyoseishoshi) or a lawyer.
6. Job listings
We review job listings, but we do not guarantee that the information provided by employers is accurate, complete or up to date.
Employers on the Service are prohibited from taking money from applicants. If you are asked to pay any fee to apply or to be hired, are promised a visa, or find that the actual conditions differ from the listing, do not pay and contact us at support@olajob.jp.
7. Prohibited conduct
When using the Service, you must not do any of the following:
- Registering false information, or misrepresenting your career, qualifications, residence status or other details
- Impersonating another person or using someone else's information without permission
- Spam, such as indiscriminate mass applications or sending messages for advertising or solicitation
- Harassing, threatening or discriminating against employers or other users
- Using employer information obtained through the Service for purposes other than looking for work
- Accessing the Service without authorization, placing excessive load on it, or collecting information from it by automated means
- Any act that violates, or is likely to violate, laws, public order and morals, or these Terms
- Any other act that we reasonably judge to be inappropriate
8. Uploaded documents and AI features
You keep the rights to the documents you upload and the information you enter. You allow us to use them to the extent needed to provide the Service (storing, displaying, sending them to the employers you apply to, converting formats, etc.).
Do not upload documents that infringe the rights of others or contain untrue information.
Text generated by the AI Resume feature is a draft. Check it yourself and correct it so that it matches the facts before you use it. We do not guarantee the accuracy of generated text.
9. Suspension and changes to the Service
If you violate these Terms, or if we reasonably judge that you are likely to do so, we may, without prior notice, remove your content or suspend or delete your account.
We may suspend or interrupt all or part of the Service for maintenance, system failures, natural disasters or other unavoidable reasons. We may also change the Service or stop providing it.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
We are not a party to disputes between you and an employer concerning applications, screening, employment contracts, working conditions or other matters. However, if we receive a report of a problem, we will take action where necessary, such as suspending a listing.
We do not guarantee the content of job information provided by employers, the conduct of employers, or the outcome of residence status examinations.
If you suffer damage for a reason attributable to us, we are liable only for direct and ordinary damage. This limitation does not apply where we acted intentionally or with gross negligence.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Code of Japan on standard terms. When we do, we will announce the changed content and the effective date on the Service or by other appropriate means, a reasonable period before the changes take effect.
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Japan.
The Osaka District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over any dispute between you and us relating to the Service.
